Information for parents, young women and leaders
What is the cost of camp?
Final costs for families will be determined in each ward after any youth fundraisers occur.
The total per camper from the stake is ___. Friends who attend would pay ___per camper.
What is the dress code?
Please consider the activities you will be participating in and bring clothing that is appropriate for the activities. Bring layers for temperature changes.
Read and study section 10 (Your Body is Sacred) of the the For the Strength of Youth guide and counsel with your parents about appropriate attire for camp.
Why Buckhorn?
Feedback from 2025 stake camp was heavily considered. Additionally, YCL survey was taken and the following priorities were highlighted:
- Similar cost to 2025
- More space for bishops and YW leaders to attend
- More gathering spaces for ward time activities and weather
- The YCLs prioritized hiking, paddleboarding and rock climbing
How will housing work?
Housing at Buckhorn does not break neatly into ward units.
- Builders of Faith will be housed in the dorms.
- Messengers of Hope and Gatherers of Light will be housed in the cabins.
Each YW will select one buddy that they would like to room with.
- Builders of Faith will need to select a buddy from within the Builders of Faith in the stake
- Gatherers of Light and Messengers of Hope will need to select a buddy from within all of the Gatherers/Messengers in the stake.
We anticipate keeping wards close.
Leaders will be housed in the cabins and dorms so there will always be people to help!

How will activities work?
The YCLs will determine 5 core activities that everyone will participate in.
YW will then select 6 elective activities, and will be scheduled for 5 electives based on scheduling and enrollment.
This means that YW will participate in a variety of activities with a variety of YW in the stake.
Can friends come?
Yes! We have limited space for friends, on a first come first served basis. Register by the March 1st deadline for best availability.
Friends will need to pay the full amount, $375 per camper.
What is the bathroom situation?
The cabins and dorms have bathrooms (toilets with running water) inside.
There are additional restrooms in the lodges.
I'm new to the area, can I still come?
Yes! We anticipate YW will move in to the stake after the March 1st deadline. Don't worry, we would love to have you come to camp!
I have dietary restricitions. What is the food situation?
After registration, we will reach out to you with options to accomodate your needs.
How long is the drive?
Buckhorn is about 2.5 hours away from the Springs, depending on traffic.
The drive is mostly on the Interstate and paved roads with some dirt roads at the end.
What's the sleeping situation?
All cabins and dorms have bunk beds with mattresses. You will need to bring your own bedding (sleeping bag or blankets and pillow).
Can I bring my phone to camp?
Let's leave phones at home and enjoy time in nature and connecting with friends!
There is no cell service at Buckhorn. The camp will give Starlink access to adult leaders only so leaders will be able to get in touch if needed.
